The criteria and requirements for selecting the trainees for leader training will vary according to the type of ministry the trainees will engage in upon completing leader training. In general there are two procedures in selecting trainees for leader training.

In the case of those who just completed discipleship training continuing on with leader training
Character, temperament, faithfulness, shown in discipleship training, and gifts of those who completed discipleship training are taken into consideration in determining whether or not to move on to leader training. The opinions of the trainees themselves and the discipleship training pastor will influence the decision. These trainees do not submit separate application for leader training.

- Character
- Temperament
- Faithfulness
- Spiritual Gifts

In the case of those who completed discipleship training a while ago in the past, but applying for leader training now:
Theses people must submit leader training applications and also state the reason(s) why they did not move on to leader training directly upon completing discipleship training. They must also obtain comments from their discipleship training pastor, the pastor in charge of their area, and the signature of their small group leader. Then the pastor in charge of leader training will interview the applicants and decide whether they can enroll or not.
